  • Sharepoint has lost it's appeal with players like SalesForce & NetSuite eating their market share rapidly.

  • Many companies use ERP, ERM, CRMs but fail to realize that unless they mine the data, it's totally useless. In my view Business Intelligence is something important as it gives you a good feel of trends and you can know what areas you're lacking.

    Most companies just go through the motion and hop onto the technoloy band wagon and send their staffs for training, not knowing the ultimate goal of the whole exercise.

    Most companies don't even have a Business Intelligence Manager. The BI guy is typically the Indian Programmer Analyst who just provides the reports on demand. Sad.
